The Conference That Changed It All

It was 2019, and I was heading to Conference as a Director.

I had started my business just one year earlier, but it took me six months to decide that I was actually going to work it like a business. And once I did, I hit my goal.

I became a Director.

I was happy. I was proud. And honestly? I was content.

I had done it. I had reached the goal I had set for myself.

Then I walked across that stage.

I watched as other people walked the stage for milestones that seemed huge. Goals that, at the time, felt so far beyond what I thought was possible for me.

And something shifted.

A Shift in Perspective

I started to think differently.

I started to dream bigger.

I started to wonder, What if I could do that, too?

I went home from Conference and got to work.

And what happened next still blows my mind.

By the time the next Conference rolled around just one year later, my organization had promoted to an Executive Director Team—and we were already in month two of qualifying for Senior Executive Director.

In ONE year, we went from a team of 5 to a team of 395.

One event.

One experience.

One decision.

Changed everything.

Why I’m Sharing This Story

And that’s why I share this story.

Because so often, we count ourselves out before we even get started.

We tell ourselves:

“That could never be me.”
“I’m not capable of that.”
“Things like that only happen to lucky people.”

But what if we’re wrong?

What If?

What if you are one decision away from a completely different future?

What if the event you almost skip, the opportunity you almost pass up, or the goal you almost decide is “too big” is actually the moment that changes everything?

My life and my business look completely different today because I decided to dream a little bigger after that Conference.
